The title of this exhibition is a direct reference to the Orphic tradition. This was the passphrase that initiates had to repeat to the guardians of the underworld, in order for them to be permitted to drink, not from the fountain of Lethe (Oblivion), but from the river of Mnemosyne (Memory). The phrase denotes their awareness of their divine origins….
